Predictions: Make and confirm predictions after every few pages.
Reread: Stop and Reread when something doesn't make sense. Make note of where you did it.
Establish Purpose for Reading: Give students a specific purpose for reading. For example:
-While you read, see if you can find out why....
-While you read, look for....
-While you read, think about how...
The Big 3: Always ask yourself, "Does it look right? Does it sound right? Does it make sense?"
